Five Mistakes to Avoid When Buying a Pendant Light
A pendant light is a five-year commitment. Here are the five small decisions that turn a beautiful fixture into the wrong one.

1. Skipping the tape measure
The single biggest mistake. A 12-inch pendant that looks commanding in a showroom feels lonely in a vaulted living room. Always measure the surface beneath and the ceiling height before you order.
2. Ignoring the bulb
A warm 2700K bulb and a cold 5000K bulb in the same fixture create two completely different rooms. Order a 2700K dimmable LED for any living space. Skip the bargain bulbs — the colour shift is real.
3. Buying the wrong dimmer
Not all dimmers play well with LEDs. If you hear a buzz or see a flicker, the dimmer is the problem, not the bulb. Look for an ELV or 0-10V dimmer that explicitly lists LED compatibility.
4. Forgetting the cord
A short cord is a permanent installation problem. VAELOR pendants ship with a 10-foot cord as standard, but always check before you install — there is nothing worse than a 6-foot cord on a 10-foot ceiling.
5. Skipping the return policy
Buy from a retailer with a 30-day return window. Even with all the planning, a pendant that looked perfect on a screen can feel wrong in person. The peace of mind is worth it.
