The shade is fine ribbed washi paper — the same fiber lanterns have been made from for centuries. Each vertical pleat softens the light into a band, so it glows like a paper lantern with no glare at all.
Almost five feet of quiet light. The Faro stands where reading chairs, beds, and tea tables need warmth most — a full column of amber glow that makes an entire corner of the room feel intentional.
The shade rests on a low square of oiled solid walnut — every base with its own grain and knots, no two alike. Honest weight at the bottom, paper lightness above.
Wabi-sabi is the beauty of things humble and imperfect. The Faro doesn't flood a room — it casts the soft, layered shadows Japanese interiors are built around. Presence over brightness.
The Faro Wabi-Sabi Floor Lamp takes its name from the Italian word for lighthouse — a tall, quiet column of light. Its ribbed washi paper shade diffuses a single warm bulb into bands of amber that wash the wall behind it, resting on a solid walnut base whose grain belongs to your lamp alone. In a bedroom corner, beside a reading chair, or next to a tea table, the Faro does what paper light has done in Japanese rooms for centuries: it makes the shadows beautiful.

PRODUCT FAQ
It's stronger than it looks — washi is made from long plant fibers that give it a linen-like toughness, and the ribbed pleating adds structure. Treat it like a linen shade: dust with a soft dry brush, and it will last for years.
No — the Faro takes one standard E26/E27 bulb, max 40W, sold separately so you can choose your warmth. For the amber lantern glow we photograph, use a 2700K warm LED.
With a 40W-equivalent LED it lights a reading chair beautifully — soft, shadowless, and warm. It's an atmosphere lamp first; pair it with a ceiling fixture if you need task-level brightness.
Nothing at all. It ships in one piece, plugs into any outlet, and switches on from the in-line foot switch on the cord. No electrician, no drilling.
The oiled walnut has a warm mid-brown tone that sits comfortably beside oak, ash, and darker woods alike. And since it is solid wood, every base carries its own grain — yours is one of a kind.

The VAELOR Standard
We work with specialist manufacturing partners and choose each fixture for proportion, material character and the quality of its glow. Clear specifications and thoughtful aftercare are part of the design.
Glass, stone and warm metals are selected for the way they hold light, age naturally and give every piece its own quiet presence.
We look first at diffusion, scale and the feeling a fixture creates after dark — never decoration for decoration's sake.
Dimensions, lamp type, installation notes and care guidance are documented so every piece can be planned with confidence.
